Child Evangelism Fellowship Files Lawsuit Over Rental Fee
Tuesday, 12 February 201302/11/13 ... A Good News Club run by Child Evangelism Fellowship in the Harrisburg School District has filed a lawsuit because it is being charged a $1200 annual rental fee to hold its Bible-based after-school program, unlike other nonprofit groups, which are not charged.

Good News Club Files Lawsuit in California

Child Evangelism Fellowship was denied a request to use school district facilities for its after-school Good News Club in the Buena Park School District (Orange County, CA), despite the fact that other nonprofit youth organizations are allowed to use the facilities at no cost under the California Education Code. CEF has filed a lawsuit alleging violations of the First Amendment and equal protection.

Gay and Lesbian Support Group and Equal Access Act

A student in Tennessee has requested permission to form a gay and lesbian support group under the provisions of the Equal Access Act, that states that school districts, if they allow noncurricular clubs at all, must allow all kinds (including religious or gay and lesbian). The proposed club has caused controversy, and no decision has been made.
