Jail Accommodates Hijab

04/23/12 ... After discussion with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), St. Louis law enforcement has agreed that a Muslim woman wearing the hijab may be screened in private by a female officer and then have her scarf returned. Case law says that a Muslim woman may wear the scarf unless the jail shows it is a security risk, under the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act.
